PDF files
You can save your Expression Design artwork to disk as a PDF file by clicking Export on the File menu. After you give the file a name and tell Expression Design where to save it in the Export dialog box, select PDF from the Save as Type list, and then click the Save button. The Export PDF dialog box displays. This lets you determine what Expression Design should do with special effects that the PDF file format does not ordinarily support, such as Live Effects and brush strokes based on bitmapped images.
- Rasterization By default, Expression Design will rasterize (turn into bitmapped images) transparent gradients. You can also select the Image Strokes and Live Effects check boxes to convert these to bitmapped images. This helps maintain the appearance of your artwork as much as possible. However, if you clear one or more of the options in this dialog box, some objects will be exported as solid lines or fills.
- Resolution If you select one or more of the Rasterize options, you can control the resolution of the bitmapped image in this field.
- Image strokes vectorization If you have chosen not to rasterize image strokes, these strokes will be vectorized into overlapping solid fill objects for the export. You can select the number of overlapping objects to create for each image stroke. This is similar to the Auto Trace Image feature.
After making your selections in this dialog box, click OK to start the exporting process.
